Governments and central banks worldwide recognized the massive economic consequences likely to result from COVID-19 and provided unprecedented stimulus to keep both people and businesses afloat. While actions were quick, some of those in greatest need were overlooked.
We received about $10,000 from the Temporary Wage Subsidy Program created by the federal government to encourage employers to keep workers employed. Once we were certain that our business would not be significantly affected by the short-term drop in markets, we decided that forwarding our portion to those less fortunate was the right thing to do.
We selected two worthy charities:
$5,000 to Covenant House – Providing hope to Vancouver’s homeless and at-risk street youth
$5,000 to Quest Food Exchange – A Vancouver not-for-profit organization that provides dignified access to affordable, healthy food for people facing financial challenges
We hope to help make a difference for those who are struggling through this difficult time.
